OH Honors NM – TVA Limited Carry – AZ Inform Law

Ohio now honors New Mexico. The OH AG has not updated his Reciprocity page but NM is reporting they have a signed agreement in hand. New Mexico is going strong in trying to get other states who meet their criteria to sign an agreement with them.

The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) will now allow limited carry on their property. Day Use Areas, Campgrounds, and other developed recreational TVA lands are still off limits. TVA lands where Hunting is presently allowed, Undeveloped Shorelines, Boat Ramps, Boat Ramp Parking Areas and Associated Roads for those areas is where carry will be allowed. It is my understanding that the “Hunting Firearms Allowed” signs will be replaced over a period of time (1 year or longer) with “No Target Practice” signs.

I just became aware of a law in Arizona about informing an officer who approaches you on any type of official business. You don’t have to inform the officer you are carrying but the law states:

13-3102. Misconduct Involving Weapons; Defenses; Classification; Definitions

    1. Carrying a deadly weapon except a pocket knife concealed on his person or within his immediate control in or on a means of transportation:
    (b) When contacted by a law enforcement officer and failing to accurately answer the officer if the officer asks whether the person is carrying a concealed deadly weapon.

So be aware AZ is the only state that has a law that states you have to give the officer an answer to this specific question and give an accurate answer or you are in violation of the law. This new law came in with Constitutional Carry.

Huh? I'm confused. What does the TVA have to do with Ohio or Arizona? I always thought that the "Tennessee Valley" was a term that referred to the area of North Alabama enclosed by the Tennessee River and some of southern Tennessee. Does the Tennessee Valley Authority have a presence in Ohio?

ETA - learned something, but still confused

The post is about 3 separate items. OH/NM then About the TVA and then about AZ Law on Informing Officer if Ask.

The TVA has its most property in Tennessee. But also some in AL, GA, NC, VA, NC and KY.

Oh, OK. Thanks for the info. I wasn't even aware that TVA land was a no carry zone. That's a lot of land around here.
