I'm sure a lot of people do carry when not allowed but would be pretty foolish to admit it on a public internet blog wouldn't it?
So we all know that there are some places you aren't allowed to carry legally, but who here knows somebody that does and would rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6?

To say that guns kill people is to say that automobiles drive drunk and matches commit arson.

Well, I was able to get a CCW permit because I've been a law abiding citizen. I don't see putting the right to carry at risk just to go somewhere I can't legally carry. Every state has different laws regarding what will happen to you if you do and they vary depending on how and where you violate the law. I try not to go places when I can not be armed but there are some exceptions that I just can't avoid. I occasionally go to the post office and must go inside to take care of business. I occasionally need to go to the court house to process a construction permit, renew a drivers license or get a tag for a vehicle. I disarm when I go in those places. It's the law. You either follow the law or you don't. There isn't any middle ground there. It sounds good to say you'd rather be tried by 12 than carried by six, but the reality is, at least in Florida, if you discharge your weapon in a place you're not supposed to have one, all your rights under the law are in jeopardy. Further, this type of behavior just makes it harder for others to get a license because the media will make you out to be a gun toting crazy person. So no I don't carry where it's against the law.

'I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.' Thomas Jefferson
Well said Bigskiff, i think we all want to be able to defend the one's we care about, but with all the laws in the US, we must chose to live within those laws or to feel that we are outside of the law. I know that here in Va. there are places i cannot carry and i'd rather obey the laws and be availible to defend my loved ones. Basically if you lose the right to carry or are in jail for that one time you get caught, who will defend your loved ones then?Originally Posted by BigSkiff
