    Re: Packing Full Size?

I've conceal carried my PT1911 and 24/7 Pro 9mm, but typically not in summertime. It's hot here !

I carry a PT145 in a Don Hume JIT Belt Holster, and I pocket carry my 709SS or my TCP. (The PT145 is the largest pistol I own). I know that doesn't qualify as a full size handgun, but it does the same damage as a full sized .45 at close range, so I'm satified!

I'm working my way up. My regular carry is a P3AT but when the mood strikes me I carry a CZ82. Next winter may try wearing the PT101P or the 689 along with the proper clothing.

I usually carry one of my full size 1911's in a galco fletch holster or my compact in david bullard leather holster.I can't wear an IWB holster because I am one of those people that the older I get the more streamlined I get.If it is too hot to carry with a cover up of some sort ,I carry my Diamondback 380 in an inside the pocket holster

    Re: Packing Full Size?

I carried my PT99 this morning, in my Tagua Quick Draw, belted to a pair of cargo shorts, with a big floppy Nautica shirt over it. In a full length mirror I just could make out a slight bulge, but I was looking for it. PT99 IS a big chunk of metal, and heavy with 15 rds in the mag and one in the pipe (Safety on, decocked, ready for DA), but not really uncomfortable once I got my belt adjusted right. I knew it was there all right, but I wasn't self conscious, which draws attention.

Stopped three times: A lawn and garden shop, Sam's Club, and a grocery store. If anyone made me, they didn't say anything. It doesn't matter legally, since GA also allows open carry, but I'd just as soon have the advantage of surprise if God forbid, I ever need to draw my piece.

So you can carry a full size pistol concealed, just need to prepare and dress right.

    Re: Packing Full Size?

I got a model 99 as well, and yes i can carry it somewhat concealed, but ohhh does the 709 ever carry soooooo much better!
actually i think i can carry my 1911's easier than the 99 due to the thinner frame.
course you give up a bit on ammo capacity but i don't plan on an extended stay if the bullets begin to fly.

When I wear a jacket in cool weather, or a large denim shirt untucked, I conceal carry my Judge Public Defender in a belt slide...or my MilPro in the Fobus holster.

Warm weather--t-shirt--I stuff the little 738 in my pocket in a Uncle Mike's pocket holster.

    Re: Packing Full Size?

It's hot here on the shores of Lake Erie today. (90). I've carried my PT99 OWB under an untucked t shirt all day. Lots of people around for the holiday weekend. One of the neighbors son is a Cleveland cop. No one has noticed, or at least not said anything. Supposed to be hotter tomorrow. I think I'll stick my S&W 442 in my pocket.
