Is that a Gun under your shirt?

A few days ago, I was at one of my local Coffee hangouts. It was The Barnes & Noble Bookstore Café`. I go there several times a week.

On this trip, I was writing some notes about a Photo Shoot I had done and I dropped my Pen onto the Floor. When I bent over to pick it up, the grip on my PT-111 must have printed significantly.

The fellow sitting to my right, and slightly behind me, asked me in a very terse manner "Is that a Gun under your shirt?". I put my hand over the area where the grip was, looked at him and said "No Sir, that's my Colostomy Bag, would you like to see it?"

I rarely, if ever, get a comment from anyone about what's under my shirt. And, I'm not sure where my comment to him came from. It certainly wasn't something I'd practiced. But... It worked. The man immediately became very apologetic and was red in the face from embarrassment.

I now have a good comeback ready if ever asked again.

Oh, and BTW, I fortunately don't have one of those.

Good answer. In Texas, printing is not illegal.

"A license holder commits an offense if the license holder carries a handgun on or about the license holder's person under the authority of Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code, and intentionally fails to conceal the handgun."

None of us who conceal carry intend to print.

Curious - Is the store posted?

The Mall in which the Bookstore is located has signs on their entry doors. However, there are no signs on the Barnes & Noble outside entry doors. In GA, all they can do is ask you to leave or remove your gun from the premises.

I had a similar incident in Walmart and I looked at them and just said, "Why do you ask?"

    They moved on without responding.

I spent the rest of my time in the store wondering when the police were going to arrive but they never did.

I think I should have just said what you said.

    Quick thinking!

I haven't been asked but always thought I would say it's my insulin pump. I am diabetic, but don't have a insulin pump............... yet.

I'm guessing that nosey-boy will be a little more careful about comments like that, at least for a while. The little shop I frequent is NOT posted, and you see a fair number of OC traffic there. Of course, they don't care, either.

What is it with people nowadays, and their over-riding interest in everyone but themselves?
