Only had to draw on duty - never while CC'ing (so far).
In all the years that you have had a CCW, CHL have you ever had to display force in protecting yourself or your family? If so can you please share your experience and how you handled it and how you dealt with the PD after the incident happened. How successful were you in calming down the situation before you had to draw your firearm. Please share would love to hear your stories and what you can expect.

This same question was asked on DefensiveCarry.com a couple of months ago and there were only a couple of folks that would discuss it. This is an intensely personal and traumatic experience and if I ever do have to draw and shoot, a public forum such as this is the last place I would discuss it - even it all turned out well for me, legally.

Sorry for asking the question I mean no disrespect to any of the people on the forums. Please close this thread so we can end this conversation in a friendly manner. Thanks again.

No disrespect in the question. I'm sorry if my response indicated otherwise. Some things are just intensely personal, and actual armed response, especially if it results in a firearm discharge, is one of those. The reason for not publicly discussing such events is that one never knows what ramifications may develop in the future.Originally Posted by Armando1228

What we really have to understand, is that most of us will never ever have to display, draw, or fire our guns against some BG or even zombies. It is our insurance, protection from being attacked, and faithful companion.
I feel for those that have to use a gun, LE or General gun owner. It would not be a good experience.
I agree I dread ever having to draw. But I understand perfectly what you guys mean it is really personal and traumatic.

Thank goodness I've never had to, but knowing I could to protect myself and my loved ones is very comforting.
Old age isn't for pansies!!
Due to the rising cost of ammo. A warning shot will NOT be fired!!
