I'm happy to say that there are more women holster manufacturers out there now. CCW magazine had a article that had some of those in there.

I am not a big fan of CCW purses or brief cases, but if that were the only option I would look for one that the strap goes over the head and across the body and make sure that it has a fairly heavy metal cable in the strap to prevent cutting it!

I do not beleave in cc purses or fanny packs they are taken too easily if someone steals her purse or it ges left behind there is too great of a chance of slomeone finding her gun, and doing Lord only knows what . I carry iwb and I am also geting a 380 for my thigh holster and bra carry that way when im dressed up I can still carry I carry iwb and wear dress slacks. Being a woman I would never carry in the purse or fanny pack

The wife is using a purse from Gun Totin' Mamas and she loves it. She has a NAA Guardian .32 but my PT-945 will fit too. Her purse is the Raven model in black. Good stuff. Steel cable in the strap, really tough construction, enough storage for a woman with four kids. Reasonable price too.

Regarding off body carry, I'd rather she carried off body than not carry at all... She's irreplacable and I like her packin'.

My wife has a purse for carry, sometimes. Just depends on the clothing being worn. Some clothes just do not allow for on body carry. Of course it's not the first choice, but better than not carrying at all.

I am not and never will be a fan of Conceal carry purses. I believe your protection should be on you at all times and never in a purse next to you on a table, around your shoulder, hanging on a chair at a resturant, the back of a restroom door, in your shopping buggy and all the other million places women lay their purses DOWN.
    Extremely well-stated, MissKitty!

My comment is not intended to be vulgar or distasteful, but if I was a lady, I'd not want carry a firearm in that location either.

Same goes for the Smart Carry for a guy...just sayin'...

I use the oft-maligned cell pal for my carry. Took a lot of time to practice, but it was worth it. And the gun is pointed down, not in, if you know what I mean... My daughter has carried some w/ a cell pal, but she likes tighter pants then I prefer, LOL....

My wife utilizes carry purses from Coronado Leather, and Galco. Her job mandates her to work unarmed. The purse is locked up while she works. She isn't the type to "forget" her purse, nor does she leave it "hanging over her chair, or "in plain view" in her vehicle. Both purses allow her to sling the strap over her head, and wear the purse across her body.

How many of the posters here leave a gun in their car, if only for a little while, and how does that differ from what is being described here? How many of us carry a pocket holster in a back pocket? If a criminal can pick-pocket your wallet, what about your gun?

A LOT of the results described can be attributed to a Condition White attitude, rather than a means of carry. As such, a gun on your body would help you exactly NONE in the case of an attack. On the body carry all too often flashes the gun when we move into unusual positions, or move quickly. Once that happens, the same bad guys can target your weapon even more easily than in a purse.

No single approach is going to work 100% of the time. Consider carefully what you'll be doing with the gun, under all of the circumstances that you may find yourself in, before ruling out any means of carry.
