With such little real estate to work with I use what I have seen termed as a revolver grip. Your finger overlap like usual, and my left thumb goes back over my right thumb and squeeze on my right thumb. I would also suggest working on 1 hand since it will most likely be used 1 handed in a defensive situation. That way you aren't learning a new muscle memory as you called it.

), my problem is that I can't get a good feel with my left hand. Cup and saucer doesn't work for me, more conventional grips don't work either. I've modified my grip to locking my left thumb as far down on my right wrist as possible to avoid slide bite but I don't think I want to trust myself with a new muscle memory on that because I have to think pretty hard to get that thumb down. with a more modern grip my left thumb wants to ride too close to the slide and interferes with the tip on my trigger finger. the next closest for me is actually having my left thumb beside my right but I'm giving up some control with that.............suggestions?
