    TCP 738 Magazine Question

I have a new "B" model in the 72,xxx serial number range. I haven't shot it yet, but have taken it apart just to get familiar with the process. I tried to take the magazine apart and could not get the floor plate to move after pushing in the spring with a small punch through the hole in the floor plate. I suspect it is just a tight fit, but I'm hesitant to take a rubber hammer to it unless someone here says that is required. Am I missing something in the procedure?

    Thanks.

After talking to Taurus Customer Service and confirming that it is still removable, I took a rubber hammer to it and got it to move. It was tight all the way until the floor plate was even with the front of the magazine. I just hammered it back on and won't completely remove it until it needs cleaning.

It should move pretty easy now since you have moved it. Just checked mine....it moves very easy.

I have a A model, but really none of my magazines for some 8 different Taurus weaposn are/were that hard to remove.
but actually its kind of good that its that snug as long as it doesn't effect function, and i really don't see how it would?
I remember yeras ago a buddy that was into extended magazines, had a like 25 round mag for a Beretta 92 and we were shooting, after about 5-6 shots the bottom of the gun (magazine) opened up and out spilled a load of 9 mm ammo.
kind of looked like it took a dump, i laughed my butt off about that!
it was of course a cheap aftermarket unit.
