Taurus Slim 709, will it come in 40 s&w?

I bought my 709 SS yesterday and put 100 rounds thru it. After disassembling it and measuring the size difference between the 9mm & .40 case sizes and comparing it to my Walther PPS I would say there is little to no reason why Taurus can't make the 709 in .40 but the recoil will be significantly harsher.

Normally I prefer the 40SW, but in the case of the 709, like it in 9mm.......and yes, recoil would be a tad strong, probably would make an accurate follow up shot hard to do.

My only recoil experience in these smaller pistols goes back to the Kahr P40 I owned...recoil wasn't painful, but you had to really work on control.

I agree.....even my PPS is a bit harder to follow up with in .40.
I think the 709 in 9 MM is the perfect caliber.

Nothing has been said or written about a 740.....doesn't mean it won't happen, but generally you'd hear about it through the SHOT show or the NRA show, then you'd see it sometime in the next year or two. Frankly, I couldn't imagine one coming out any sooner than that.
