Okay, I Bought A Taurus PT 24/7 Pro DS .45 ACP. What Do I Have?

I stopped at a local pawnshop and found a used Taurus 24/7 Pro DS in .45 acp at $299. Looks good, not much wear, extra mag, box, no manual. I like Taurus, but I don't know much about this particular model. I looked at some of the posts, and apparantly it is discontinued. I like the feel of the gun, altho it does have a long pull. I's like to get more mags, a holster, etc for it, but don't want to buy something that may not work with it.

That is the 3rd version of a Gen 1 24/7. Does that make sense? It is the last version before the current G2 24/7. Magazines can be found here Taurus PT24/7 45acp 12rd Mag New Factory . And any 24/7 Pro holster will work for it.

I have the SS 9mm version of that pistol - the sweetest and most accurate of my lot. Wish I had a .40 in the same model and if I ever run across one, will buy it. I've said before in another thread, that had I been told this was the worse pistol ever made, the minute I put mine in my hand it was love and no way it wasn't going home with me - it melded immediately - most comfortable gun I've ever held. OK, I'm thru gushing. If the manual is no longer available at Taurus web site, let me know and I'll email you a copy.

The 24/7 Pro DS was the last of its kind before the G2. It has the decocking safety which wasnt present on the earlier models of 24/7

Congratulations on your acquisition of one very fine pistol at a super price!

For a while, I had a 24/7 Pro Compact DS in .45 ACP, and it was a hard-hitting, very accurate pistol and was rock-solid reliable.

I have a PT 24/7 Pro DS compact in 9mm. It is my favorite gun. Love the fit in my hand, scary accurate, completely reliable, and easy to carry concealed. I like the decocking feature because I can comfortably carry decocked in double action and with the safety disengaged.

Took it to the range today an fired 50 rds of Blazer aluminum. It did great, no issues and hit where I pointed! It reminds me a lot of my Ruger P 345 in .45 auto
