Not a Mag Jam. That's what we call premature Slide Lock, which sometimes can happen on Semi-Auto's when a Bullet Nose pushes up on the Slide Lock Lever extension in the Magazine Well. Sometimes certain Bullet Nose Profiles activate that Slide Lock Lever. Sometimes Cartridges slide forward in the Magazine under Recoil and will really get under that Slide Lock Lever. Sometimes the Slide Lock Lever is accidently activated by Recoil if it's Spring is weak. Sometimes the shooter will accidentally hit the Slide Lock Lever up during the Recoil Cycle.
Normally that Slide Lock Lever extension is lifted up by a shelf in the Magazine Follower to hold the Slide open, telling you that your Magazine is empty.
Shoot it some more and see if it happens with enough regularity to really be a problem. If so, you have some trouble shooting to do.
It does happen once in a blue moon, but not enough to be considered a problem. Those were Remington .40 S&W bullets from Wal-mart but I am going try out some Winchesters and see if that helps.
To me that looked like a double feed judging by how hard it was to pull the mag. I have had both my full and compact 45's do that. I was running Remington UMC's as well as Winchester white box ammo. Think I may have slack wristed the recoil and that was what caused it. Just a guess though.
I am starting to think its those Remington Green/White box that is the problem, I went through two magazines of Winchesters White box yesterday and it was smooth as silk. No jams with Winchesters and then when I use those Remington's it starts acting weird again.
I also use federals and I never experienced any problems.
