I hopped on Taurus's site today to check the status of my TCP in repair and saw they released a new G2 line of handguns. From the few moments I looked at them, they seem amazing and really nice aesthetically. What does everyone else think. Are they available in stores yet? Anyone had a chance to fire one?
I have been looking for a concealed carry 45 and the new ones seem to be perfect...
Their website says "available" so i have no idea what that means. it's about 1/2 inch longer than a 145 but its ambidextrious, has a trigger safety and looks way sleeker. i hope it feels and performs as well as it looks
I am buying one now and my last payment is in two weeks can't wait. 24/7 G2 40 S&W Once I put a couple hundred rounds through it I will post my thoughts.
I really liked the feel and some of the new features. One is the reset after initial pull of the trigger is only about a third of the way back to original trigger position. Plus the being able to set it there as a ready position for carry is little known fact. Also the new change of the way to field strip is good just to mention a couple.
Skinned knuckles not fun. Possible slide bite or using gun for a hammer? Maybe resting back of hand against tree to steady and happened during muzzle jump? Sorry you asked for thoughts once they start I can't get them to stop. Ever stop to think and forget to restart?
Keep them on target.
The "skinned knuckles" refers to my skill working on cars and motorcycles , not carelessness with handguns.
I really like many of the features of the G2, but I'm looking for a a 9mm for range fun and really want a barrel closer to 5". The 4" barrel makes for easier CC but that's not what I'm looking for right now. Maybe they will add the long slide option soon, particularly if the OSS is going away.
I do apologize if there was a misunderstanding in a previous reply.
Skinnedknuckles I wasn't implying you are unsafe in your gun handling I just was trying to be funny. TMartinez at the end of his post said Skinnedknuckles, your thoughts? I took the question out of context and made it as if he was asking skinned knuckles your thoughts?
I meant no disrespect. I have an odd sense of humor sometimes.
Skinnedknuckles Taurus does have a 5" long slide in the 24/7
The 24/7 G2 Long Slide utilizes the same superior features as the other G2s and incorporates a better
sight picture for improved accuracy. The 24/7 G2 Long Slide is offered in 9mm, .40 cal. and .45 ACP.
The long slide model features a 5" barrel! Capacity is the same as the standard model.
Armedpatriot - no misunderstanding - apparently my sense of humor is just as odd because I thought your response was really funny. I'm trying NOT to do all those things you mentioned, especially using it as a hammer. I've been know to fix plumbing problems by beating on it with a shoe, and I've hooked myself in the back of the head with a fly, so nothing is impossible ;-)
Thanks for the pointer to the catalog. I had only looked at the web site listings of the 24/7 line and didn't see the LS version. Now, the hunt is on to find one in stock somewhere. Maybe Cabela's can order one for me.
Skinnedknuckles you may what to check out some gun dealers in your area the one I use will order what I want from the manufacturer with a 10% make up out the door. No transfer fees or other thats included in the 10% make up. Thats how I got my 24/7 g2 40.
Okay I should have finished reading your last post before I replied. Let me know about Cabela's.
