    Detail Strip Bottom Half 24 / 7 Pro 9mm

Hello all. First and foremost, I am no gun smith...take what I have to say for reference only. Do not do anything that you do not feel comfortable or confident doing. I take no responsibility for problems or damage that may occur from taking your gun apart.

Ok now that that's covered lets get to business. This was performed on a 24 / 7 Pro 9mm. I decided to cover this since I had trouble referencing this myself and learned by doing...If you are looking for direction in taking the top half apart there is a sticky "removing 24/7 firing pin" which covers that well. Through all of these steps take things slow and do not force anything!

First - Remove all ammo and triple check. Remove slide so that only the bottom half is left. Your gun should look like the image below.

Second - Locate the two dowel pins that hold the trigger block in place. These will need to be pushed out with a punch and mallet. Be very gentle with this step as to not damage the polymer structure.

    Pin removal below

    Third
    - Switch the safety to the on position so that the trigger assembly can move forward as it comes out. Some have had the safety "ball switch" come out during removal so keep this in mind. I have not experienced this though.

Fourth - Caution during this step the slide lock and spring assemble(see red box) may pop out so keep this in mind. Gently pull up on the front of the trigger assembly while pushing the back forward simultaneously. Do not force anything, the unit should come out smoothly. If it is jamming make sure the safety is in the up "on" position.

The slide lock and spring can be removed if it did not come out already. The two are sprung into position so they just pull out.

Fifth - Now the trigger assembly should be out of the frame. If you wish to go further you can remove the trigger pin as seen below.

This pin only moves one direction. Use a punch to push the smaller diameter end of the pin so that it comes out of the other side.

Sixth - The trigger and trigger rod should now come apart from the trigger block

    Seventh
    - Reassemble in the same order paying close attention to the slide lock. The spring should be placed completely above the slide lock and takes a little compression to be put in place correctly. I usually do this step just before lowering the block into the grip. Make sure during the insertion of the trigger block that you have the safety on and that you move the block back and down simultaneously. The rear of the trigger assembly (where serial number is) should be seated first, then the front end should be lowered. Again do not force anything. Once the trigger assembly is in place make sure the holes are aligned before inserting the final two pins.

Please don't hesitate to add anything that you might feel is of importance. And again enjoy!

Thanks, I figured I would contribute since I have obtained so much info from this site. I was a lurker for a great while...I have found that a good clean of these areas really helps with my trigger feel.. I have not filed or sanded anything other than some casting burs on the slide rails. The whole disassembly / reassembly is much easier than I thought it was going to be.

You've got more balls than I've got. I'll give it a go now that there's some pics to lead the way. I need to get a clean area to work on though, my workbench looks like a tornado and an earthquake had an argument, not a good place to play with small parts.

Thanks for putting the time into pics to make this easy.

gtlegacy, thanks for the tutorial. I've been considering doing this for a long time, but the need never arose, so it didn't get done.

That was very good, now I am have tempted to perform this on my gun. It is the very first generation of 24/7 and haves high round count and I know it needs a good cleaning.

now locate the connector and POLISH POLISH POLISH, if one was to feel soo inclined to do so, cuting some debris channels into the connector bar would be a good idea too. i mimicked what a glock or sr9/40 would look like with a ghost connector in it and made my millpro look the same. the once great trigger on the millpro is now 1911 feel-ish. now superb trigger.

I'd like to know what exactly to polish...

I removed the dirt and grit that was in there and it seems to be a lot better...just would love to figure out how to remove the initial creep that is in the trigger
