That's a fairly ugly ouchy!! So, you got a new replacement already then? Is that what you meant?
so after a week. this is the frame on my new 9mm. any one else had one do this? luckily i bought it from davidsons. so on monday my dealer is going to ship it back for a new one. even swap. after all i did to this gun to make it smooth and functional. im a little disappointed. because this is the only reason i would have sent it back. the crack does kinda explain why the safety wasnt so crisp. the crack is about 3/4" behind the safety.

I love the smell of gunpowder in the morning. It smells like....victory.
this one goes back monday and the replacement will be in the mail in a couple days. luckily i dont have to wait for taurus cs to get me a new frame. its got a davidsons warranty. so if anything goes wrong with it they will just give you a new one. then they send the bad one back to the manufacturer for credit. and thats on all guns they sell. not a bad deal. and definitely better than the we will fix it asap warranty we already get from taurus. im not really mad or anything. i was just curious if any one else has seen this on a taurus pistol. because i never have. and my ffl said this is the only polymer taurus he has had come back.

Only when used with handloads that were over charged.

yea thats kinda a given though. any time you over pressure a weapon its asking for trouble. i shot 200 factory loads through it. i did a full detail strip and clean right when i got it home from the dealer. then went straight to the range. didnt see any damage during the first clean. but i reviewed some pics i took after the range trip and can see the damage in the pics. this is the first time i have seen a taurus pistol do this under normal use. i guess it happens to all manufacturers at some time. but i always used the "ive never seen a taurus go kaboom" speach to get haters to shut up. and although this isnt a kb moment. it is still frame failure. now i have seen it first hand. and after all this. i cant wait to get my new one. dealer said it will be here tuesday :-)

Odd for sure, especially on a underpowered 9 sillymeter![]()

ha! sillymeter. i wouldnt want to get shot with it. so the new gun came today. way faster than i thought the process would be. and...... it turns out that this time i got a pro c ds. with 3 dot sights. and both mags are 3rd gen. the last one had a 1st gen 17 round mag. not that i cared. but it was one of the things i had to tweak to make it work right. this one has the decocker and the rear cocked indicator. and it looks 100% brand new. as apposed to the 1st one i got that looked like it had been fired some already. i think i made out on the deal.

sounds nice, glad every thing worked out for you!
I have not seen that kind of failure here. Please keep us posted.
