    winchester 9mm

    i have a new 24/7 pro ds 4.2" barrrel 9mm
and i have a question, i have been seeing mixed opinions on the wichester white box 115gr fmj.. is it safe in my gun? i have been hearing bad things about it just seeing if anyone in the 24/7 crowd has anything to say for it..
it is the most available ammo around here, and the cheapest without going to surplus in old cardboard boxes..

    thank you

It is definitely safe, somewhat dirty but reasonablly priced and available at Walmart. Just don't go hog wild buying a lot of it until you make sure your 24/7 likes it. I would say the same for buying any brand of ammo for any gun you just bought.

Winchester white box is probably the ammo that I've used most in my gun. The Wal-Mart by me has started to carry more Federal Premium and that's the only reason I haven't used it much lately.

I have noticed that the WWB rounds are for sure a little longer than most of the other rounds I have used. I can understand how that might be a problem in the 709s but to date, I have had no problems with WWB in my 24/7. And I've been through at least 2,000 of them.

Our WalMart finally at least got ammo in stock and I bought 500rds of it, and want to go get the other 4 boxes they have ... $23/box out of the door isn't too bad compared to $14/50 for reloads at another big box store around here.

Ran ~60rds through my 24/7 DS and it ate 'em right up.

good deal! thank you for all the replies, hopefully i make it out to rip through some of the 100rd box i bought!
is seems like that is about the only thing available, that and some other brand i have never heard of, but it is fmj as well. there is only one other place in town i haven't tried-but it is an actual "gun shop"

    well thank you all!

Like y'all I've heard the war stories about WWB. In fact there have been times in the past when I just wouldn't use it. But, with ammo being tough to get over the past year or so, I've been buying and shooting what I could get. I've shot quite a bit of WWB through various pistols and had no issues of any kind.

I qualified for my CWP with a FNP-9 and WWB FMJ. It was reliable but a bit dirty. Seemed to be reasonably accurate for inexpensive ammo, too. American Eagle seems much cleaner, but I still buy WWB when it's available for the right price.
