The 3 dots should line up. After that, there is personal and gun preference whether you aim with a 6 o'clock hold, x-ring, or cover the bullseye.

FWIW, I have my target pistols set up to 6 o'clock hold. The 24/7, with the 5 rounds I had time to squeeze off, seems to want to land just high of point of aim.

Anyone have any advice on aiming with the non-adjustable 3 dot sights on the PT92. I tend to be low/left and am wondering how much is technique and how much is how I am aiming. I have always heard to aim so that the POI you want is setting on to of the front dot.

Three dots are Kool & The Gang O0 ! You may be thinking about the Heine sights two dots, one in the front one in the rear, these are the ones that we many of us hate .

    Just FYI

The 3-dot system used on the 24/7 is pretty easy, since all you have to do is to make sure that the dot on the front sight is between the dots on the rear sight, AND that there should be an "equal amount of space" between the front side dot, and the insides of the rear sight dots.

Once your front sight dot is "crystal clear" when aiming, then you pretty much can simply adjust placing your target on "top" of the front sight. Once you practice shooting "mechanics" properly, you should be able to hit your mark consistently!

    I have the Taurus 24/7 .45ACP.

    Nightfisher:

If you are a right handed shooter, low and to the left is usually 'jerking' the trigger rather than squeezing.

If the grouping is together, it will not take you long to remedy this issue.

    Good luck!

I shoot low and left with mine as well, a bit now, but it was dramatic when the gun was new. Try bench resting several shots to determine the true POI, and if the gun is still new know that the POI may raise a bit over the next few hundred rounds.

What about hitting just low? I'm consistently directly below my target. Is that anticipating? Should I just adjust my point of aim?

Again, bench test first, that will tell you if it's you or the gun. From there the corrective measures will become obvious.
