    picky w wwb

After the first 2 boxes of wwb 230gr fmj didnt cycle(causing much frustration), ive tried several other brands of ammo. Oddly enough jhp and truncated hp both cycle w/o a hitch. Very happy with the pistol now with about 300 rds through it. The WWB were giving about 2 fte, per mag, usually a stovepipe and nosedive. Not a single failure with other brands. p.s. accuracy and functionality with the HP's is excellent, I feel much better about the pistol now. Blowing up old apples at 30-40 yards is a snap. at least as accurate as my ruger 22/45

How very odd. Did you clean the preservative out of the gun before shooting it? You might also disassemble the mags and give them a thorough cleaning, if you have not already done so. No problems with ANY ammo in my .45 24/7 OSS, so far. My .45 24/7 OSS is very similar to your .45 24/7 Pro LS.

I think your problem, assuming there is one, lies with your magazines or extractor hook not sliding over the cartridge rim upon the feeding cycle. This problem has been noted with .45's in general, and not just 24/7's.

If this persists, an operation I would consider, would be to either replace and/or lightly bevel the backside of your extractor.

Wonder if there is some difference on the Cartridge Rims of those WWB .45's. WWB .45 Ammo is not always domesticly sourced. Some of it is made by S&B in the Czech Republic. You have to look on the box to see where it came from. There is nothing wrong with S&B ammunition, either! All of it should work in your pistol!
